Making a text file of folders and subfolders

I realise with windows explorer folder names can be copied as a text file, but the my folders have sub folders, so need to create a list showing this.

installed total commander, but can’t see how it’s possible with this app.

    any thoughts please ?

    thanks

Karen's Directory Printer will do it.

I used these settings to print a text file of my CANON folder, which has sub folders and sub folders within the sub folders.

Starting with the circled folder... everything below that is folders withing folder withing folders.
Everything below FOLDER 2017_06_25, which is a subfolder... is IN the FOLDER 2017_06_25 folder.

Have to add multiple thumbs up for GHOT's information about this utility and for all of Karen's Power Tools. I've been a user of several over the past many years.

The Replicator tool is a big favorite of mine.

Not as clever as the above, but the command line is your friend:
    dir /a:d /s /b
will list all folders and subs, and output can be directed to a file, eg
    dir /a:d /s /b > folder.txt

Do you know how to get and use a command prompt? If so, change directory (CD...) to the right place, and type those exact keys and you will see what happens. Experimentation is your best learning aid. If you are not familiar with the command line, then there are many guides on the web, and probably one here (in TenForums) also.

What's weird is I started with DOS, I remember having to type the init string to get my modem to dial back in the days of bulletin boards. But now I'm old, and for the life of me I can't remember even basic things like changing directory???

    Hello @reddwarf4ever,

Just for information => CMD Line - DIR

You could write a Batch Script[s] that you can either put in ANY Root of a Folder that does what you want, or Hardcode the Folders Names.

Karen's Directory Printer however, is excellent at achieving what you want.

    I hope this helps.
