Set "Type here to Search" in Windows 10 21H1 to use my Firefox Browser

..not Edge? I know it can be done, and I had it that way before I did a Factory Reset. I also had saved the directions link, but I deleted it as I had too many links saved, to my liking anyway.

Does anyone here know how to set that up as I cannot find the website I found the answer on now?

Thanks for any help, so appreciate it. I did go through your tutorials and "searched" for answers but only found info on changing default Browser which I am already familiar with, but that doesn't change Edge from sticking like glue to that bottom, left "search" area

Hi, you can use Edge Deflector.
    Download EdgeDeflector 1.2.2.0

For those who prefer not to add yet another app just leave Firefox or your preferred browser open and search from the address bar,

That doesn't work on mine. I just like to type into that "Type here to Search" even when my firefox is open. Sometimes I'll type right into the URL, I guess it depends on my mood I do think the other way I had it set didn't involve another program or app though. I cannot remember at all though. I didn't recognize the Edgedetector though.

There used to be a way to do that that no longer works... hence now Edgedeflector is needed.

Plus it works in other cases that would invoke Edge e.g. info on Spotlight images by clicking on the lock screen.

The URL IS the address bar.

In my firefox I have Google as my search engine, and all that's showing is Bing searches. So now I'll look that one up. Bing isn't even set as my alternate "search"

Yes, I know that. That's why I like to just type in a search term, or phrase.
