[SOLVED] No traditional Québec French keyboard in Windows 10

I know that it was removed but that is difficult to explain to people who relied on it for decades. Is there a way I can install it?

You've asked this question before. As a reminder, the only answer is to create the keyboard layout yourself with the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.....

Keyboard definitions are missing in French version of Win10.

My sincere apologies, I forgot. If you wish to delete it I am OK with it. It's not for me, and each week I am asked the question.

But, I am curious as to why do you say that it's the only option? There is no such a thing in computing.

It's the only option provided by Microsoft. 3rd parties may have created such keyboard layouts (using MS tools or their own) and made them available (for a price?) but MS themselves only provide the tools to make your own layout.

It was always available in previous Windows versions. It was part of Windows, not something provided by other companies. That is why I asked. Haven't you known that?

Thanks for the replies. In retrospect, it was unfair of me to ask a French language related question on an English site. For the software itself it's better if I post on a Microsoft forum. FYI, we did try the MSKC utility, and it seems to be made for this very purpose, but it only changed some of the keystrokes. Probably because I don't know how to configure it yet.
    I am marking it [N/A]

@Bree, in case you are interested, some idiot at Microsoft renamed the keyboard to French, (Canadian, traditional, or heritage). It's in the list. Previously, it was always listed with the Canada keyboard definitions.

Is there possibly a French cultural centre or local government department in Quebec that has investigated the subject? Perhaps they know of a third-party utility that will convert a keyboard's settings to the type you want [some sort of automated MKLC setup procedure]?

    Best of luck,

Thanks, I was about to contact the Quebec National Library tech support, when I noticed that it exists in Windows. Please read my previous post.

Oh, I didn't realise that you meant that was the (complete) solution. I'm glad it's resolved.

Purely out of interest, the keyboard layout you've been after is this???

    Canadian French Keyboard
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/glo...eyboards/kbdca
    -canadian-french-keyboard.jpg

    or possibly

    Canadian French (Legacy) Keyboard
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/glo...eyboards/kbdfc
    -canadian-french-legacy-keyboard.jpg

    or possibly

    Canadian Multilingual Standard Keyboard
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/glo...yboards/kbdcan
