Shopping for a new Laptop: Suggestions on Manufacturers? HP or Dell?

To make a long story short, I am in the market for a new Laptop with Windows 10 due to an incident that happened with mine. I really would like to stay with HP since my whole house is basically adorned in HP Computers. Should I stay with HP or change to Dell or Lenovo? I found a few for sale on eBay and Facebook Marketplace of those said manufacturers. I can't spend no more than $150 as that's what I paid for my Laptop that got messed up.

    So, HP, Dell, or Lenovo?

I'd suggest that you could usefully start off by planning to stick with HP.
    - Work out which one suits your needs.
    - Then look around to see if there are any advantages to getting an equivalent from somebody else.

I bought an HP Desktop last year but have not had any reason to contact support so I cannot assess their performance.

I have had several brushes with Dell support over the years for my Dell laptops and they were useless every time.
    - If I asked a question they didn't know the answer to they'd pretend to transfer me to somebody else so they could hang up on me.
    - When, once, their own built-in test program reported that there was a hardware fault ["Bluetooth card not present"] during the warranty period they claimed it was nevertheless a software issue that was not covered.
    - When they supplied a laptop with a WiFi card that could not detect a router two feet away, they kept claiming not to be able to find the support ticket reference that they gave me.
    - I ended up fixing it with the aid of an online forum.
    - It turned out that Dell had bundled a WiFi utility that was stopping it working and Dell had installed a driver version that [separately] stopped it working.
    - I uninstalled their utility and replaced the driver with the default Windows driver and it worked properly straightaway.

When my current main computer dies I do not intend to buy from Dell. I plan to work out which HP suits my needs then use that as a basis to compare to others.

My Dells & my HP were made in China so I do not understand the "local,Dell or HP" comment made above.

The "local" comment might refers to a local manufacturer that has no dealings whatsoever with any companies in China.

I think you have answered your OWN question.

Personally, I think you should stick with what you are most familiar and comfortable with.

    I hope this helps.

I's say stick with HP since you seem to like their products.

However, with a budget of only $150, I don't believe you are going to get much of a laptop.
