This has been discussed before... Pin Any File To Taskbar in Windows 10

To pin any file to Taskbar (but Windows doesn't allow it), you have to:
-rename the file (say into file.exe)
-make a shortcut, and pin it to Taskbar
-open shortcut properties, and in "Target" rename the file back to what it was i.e. file.bat
-rename the original file back to file.bat (before you click apply in previous step)
AndreTen - That work-around functions perfectly, thx!!!

There is no need for a workaround. You can pin the shortcut to a batch file directly. You can also drag and drop the shortcut also.

Did you try what I posted in post #10 ? If you modify the target in the batch files' shortcut like I showed then I have found that Pin to Start option appears in the context menu.

You are free to prove me wrong and give me a batch file that you can't pin to the taskbar. I will take as a challenge.
