Not true. Guess you missed the part where the OP said
So I was duped into upgrading thinking I could go back to Win 7 if Win 10 was not to my liking... I tried to go back to Win 7 only to be told I'm sorry but some of the components where removed to be able to install Win 10. So you can not go back to Win 7.....
The OP is complaining because the Win10 upgrade corrupted his machine such that now, he can not go back to Win7. That sounds like a problem resulting from the Win10 upgrade to me!
, and everything complained about were things that were related to choices made, not the issues with Windows 10 itself.
Again -- NOT true! The OP did not choose to corrupt his machine, rendering Win7 unusable. The Win10 Upgrade tool chose to do that -- TO the OP's machine.

Once again -- it is NOT reasonable for folks to expect that the MS upgrade is going to corrupt their machine, making it unusable. And before anyone says this is NOT happening, it DID -- to the OP. And it did, to my machine, as well. And it has also done that to hundreds of folks that have posted to the HP Support forums about their problems over the last several weeks.

So, once again, I join in with the few others on this forum and say that we need to stop bashing folks who come here for help.

I was enjoying Windows 10 for about a week. Then i started getting the missing bootmgr error and non of the fixes worked. Thank god i could rollback to Windows 7. Being a tester for Microsoft i didn't sign up for. My PC builder and friend who has been in the business for 30 years said he has more people bringing their PC into the shop after downloading 10. He's telling people to stay away from it till the last minute of the free update if Windows 7 or 8 is working fine for you. Hopefully it will be fixed by then.

Yeah, "upgrading" with MS is always a scary proposal. It is not for the faint of heart. I took a chance and got lucky, but I did it because I was upgrading hard drives anyway and still have Win7 on my old HD.

Do the automatic updates scare anyone? I know you can schedule a restart (which I have set) but I guess I like to control the updates too. I usually like to have critical backups before updates, just in case. With the Win 10 approach, there is no such thing.

I do have two other computers running Win7Pro that were my backup,in case things did not go right with the Win10 install. I used no backing up of my two computers, and I lost no installed programs or files. I did have to reinstall my Sony video program on the Win8.1 system. The 8.1 computer asked a few time for a password, but later it just booted up ready to go.
I just downloaded Win10 from the Microsoft web site, and just installed it doing nothing special.
I have been upgrading Microsoft Windows for many years, this was by far the simplest install.

For anyone who is thinking of buying a Mac, i bought a Mac Book Pro to support my Apple iPads with music files off CDs. I tried getting used to how it handles files and how it works just gave me fits.
And today it sits in the back room and just gets the OS updated from time to time.
Macs are quality computers and many people love them,it's just after using Windows computers for many years, i just don't seem to be able to make the switch.
