You should have been previewing Windows 10 for the last year instead of hating it now, of course 7 is better then 10, and when I say that I mean 7 is better looking, but 10 runs very well.

10 just has a different layout, it`s nothing you can`t learn in a week

Always, Always preview before you install a new OS.

Never fear, you`ll find a way back with help from the experts here.

    In theory ..yes ..
    Reality ..NO
I still have my "Window OLD from 8.1" but every time I try to roll back , It kept saying there is something wrong and reset back to wds10 ..
Apparently " to me" MS lied about 30 days time frame to roll back ..
Just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean they lied. I've done a rollback so I can attest that it does work. In a perfect world it would work for everybody, but we all know that's not a reality. Things go wrong from time to time.

I love this kind of stuff..........what is this based on? Facts or belief?
In the post you replied to, I said:

    Here's my take on it:
In other words, I answered your question before you asked it. It is my opinion based on the facts. Some people may prefer (opinion) an operating system which has additional steps required to do certain things (fact) and/or reduced functionality (fact), thus considering it an upgrade (opinion). I don't, however.

I loved Windows 7 felt at the time it was the best OS Microsoft ever created based on feel and facts
Windows 10 feel is better than 8 and 8.1 but the facts are proving its better for modern systems than 7 ( modern in the past 3 years)
The facts "prove" no such thing. That is your opinion based on what are ostensibly the facts (though there is no guarantee that you have your facts straight in the first place).

    That they do.

I had 240 over 162 over 8.1.1 and was having issues, and wanted a 'clean' upgrade of 240 over 8.1.1, so I used the Rollback option.

This rolled me back from 240 to 162 with no problems, but I could not then roll further back to 8.1.1, so I attempted to restore 8.1.1 from a system image. That borked all four partitions, over two drives, by restoring to the wrong drive (E: ). So, I ended-up with an un-bootable copy of 162 on the C: drive and an un-discoverable 8.1.1 on the E: drive. D: and F: were gone completely. All attempts by Windows to repair itself failed.

Removal of the second drive and a repartition and format of the C: drive got an image of 8.1.1 working, and I then installed 240, replaced the secondary HD, and restored the files from backups (yes, I had backups) to the other three newly-created partitions.

It now purrs like a kitten and, with a few hacks and tweaks (colour in the title-bar, windows borders, forced updates turned off etc), even starts to look reasonable.

The potential problem for some when rolling back from W10 to 8.1 is this:

Assuming your rollback was successful you are presented with a point in time just prior to the actual installation/conversion to W10. The W10 has already been downloaded and in the folder on your C Drive and it is ready to install and not a prompt to initiate the download and it is not an update that you can hide. If you are not careful with your point & click you might unintentionally start the installation all over again. The GWX folder is still fully intact with all it's goodies and scheduled tasks as well. An inexperienced user might very well be stumped as to how to proceed. Even I did not want to mess with clearing the windows downloaded updates folder and then uninstalling the GWX application (KB3035583) but by planning ahead I had a full 8.1 system image (Macrium) from 7/27/15, (I upgraded to W10 on 7/29) so I simply installed that image and the only thing left to do was uninstall KB3035583 and the GWX application was gone and the only thing left was an empty GWX in Task Scheduler although I am certain there are some remnants in the Registry that hopefully will be harmless. Of course I had a bunch of 8.1 from August to install including hiding KB3035583.

    Ok I'll play:

Windows 7 designed for Desktop and net books not tablets ( but it does work on tablet PC with touch) phones ( there was a version of windows phone OS made I know) and 2 in 1 ( did not exist at the time) . Does not work as well when all touch is used.
    Slower bench marks

Windows 10 designed to be intergrated with phones more (Window 10 phones) like Apple has done.
Much better touch experience and can be run on tablets.

I have used tablet PCs since 2004 ( XP for tablet PCs anyone) And while 7 was better, 8.1 was better and 10 is even better on 2 in 1 PCs ( tablet PCs)

You want to put me down do it intelligently, IMHO saying Windows 10 is not a good OS without comparing the facts and Feel is just short sighted.

Everything that is in 7 is there in 10 except the control on updates, it changed because like Apple they have drank the koolaid of pushing updates for the user experience.

Back to your first post, I have Apple for my phone and tablet needs, one thing I know about Apple is they want to completely control your device experience. MS has just made updates automatic but you still have way more control over your device and a much wider choice of software you can run on a PC. My Dell 2 in 1 runs great with either 8.1 or 10, is it the laptop that is the problem? Specs are not everything, plenty of hardware has great specs but the driver support may be lacking.

    What of it? You said:

"but the facts are proving its better for modern systems than 7"

There are plenty of "modern systems" which are desktops. You seem to want to change your assertion to something like, "but the facts are proving its better for a wider variety of system types than 7", which is of course, moving the goalpost, and is irrelevant to someone who uses only a desktop.

    Slower bench marks
That assertion is so vague that it's meaningless.

Windows 10 designed to be intergrated with phones more (Window 10 phones) like Apple has done.

    See above.

    Say what?

Everything that is in 7 is there in 10 except the control on updates, it changed because like Apple they have drank the koolaid of pushing updates for the user experience.
No. In Windows 7 there is a setting to change the default UI font. To do so in Windows 10 you have to hack the registry, which is absurd.

Windows 10 doesn't allow you to pin shortcuts to the left side of the Start menu.

Windows 7 has the classic theme available, while Windows 10 doesn't.

Windows 7 allows you to select any possible color for the desktop background (out of over 16 million possible colors); Windows 10 gives you 24 pre-selected options.

Windows 7 allows you to install Virtual PC, while it is arbitrarily blocked from installation in Windows 8 and 10.

I have no doubt at all that there are plenty of other things, but I don't even like Windows 7 all that much, so I haven't used it much. It consider it to be a downgrade from XP, but better than Vista, Windows 8, or Window 10.

A disclaimer: I never liked Windows 7, or Vista, or XP. I used them, but never enjoyed the experience. Windows Phone and Windows 8, and then 8.1 are the first OS Microsoft ever made that I liked. I fact I loved 8/8.1. I installed the Windows 10...
