    Microsoft account cannot add or find new device


    My desktop has Win 10 Pro
    It came already installed

    Just purchased a new laptop with Win 10 Home installed

    Trying to update the laptop to Win 10 Pro, but microsoft does not see,
    cannot find the laptop by serial number.

    Any help appreciated.

    How are you trying to upgrade to Pro ?

    Are you using a Pro key to update the Home PC ?

    Control Panel > System > About

    or Settings > System > About

    or Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Change Product Key

    All take you basically to the same place.

    The laptop came with Windows Home pre-installed. So you need to purchase a Windows 10 Pro product key to upgrade it with.
