    Settings Banner is No More

Looks like there been another major change to the Settings Banner.

Both platforms today ( prior to this monthly 19043.1110 update* ):

    Settings Banner is No More-newsettingsbanner.jpg

Oddly my second machine, which isn't used much, showed the Old Banner at first, then it disappeared the moment I checked it again.

It's an improvement if you ask me.

    * I was running 19043.1082 at the time

Just noticed that change. Must have happened very recently.
Updated: Also noticed that the MoUso Core Worker Process is now not triggered by clicking on Settings.

If I had to guess it was used to check the status of Windows Updates so it could refresh the Banner alert icon. Without the icon now, there's no need.

It's definitely an improvement, but I don't like that Microsoft is now making unannounced changes to Windows.

    Interestingly, I still have it.

But, it's never bothered me, so whatever.

Update: This evening, banner is back on Settings and once again clicking on Settings triggers MoUso Core Worker Process. Very strange stuff.

I installed Windows 10 day of release and have never had that Banner! I've always wondered why some get it though. I have a vague, and probably incorrect, memory that it only showed up for people signing in using a Windows account. I've only ever used a Local Account. I haven't done a clean install since Day One but have done two repair installs in all that time. Never had the Banner.

The only other thing i can think of that might have some bearing is that i bought my License for Windows 10 through MS, rather than upgrading for Free from Windows 7. For that reason i also clean installed on Day One rather than upgrading.

This Banner is a curiosity for sure!

I had it on 1 PC and not the other, rather strange.

I don`t like it, so if it pops up after a update, I get rid of it.

I use this link Enable & Disable Header Ad in Settings app Windows 10 v2004 (geekermag.com)
