@3point1, the screenshot in your post #40 shows that Microsoft Defender was updated four times on August 4. Was it updated automatically by my VBScript or manually by you? I have asked you such a question because last year @W10 Tweaker had to manually update Microsoft Defender as per this post: KB4023057 Microsoft Update Health Tools Installed?

Since that's the only AV I'm running, I probably did tell it to update along with the Intel update.

If you had told WUMT to update Microsoft Defender, the "Application ID" would have been "Windows Update MiniTool". However, the "Application ID" shown in your screenshot is "Windows Defender", which denotes that the updates had nothing to do with WUMT. Unless you used another script/app/method to update Microsoft Defender, the updates must be installed by my VBScript.

Also, on August 5, Microsoft Defender was updated three times as per your screenshot, while no other updates were installed.

I've only used the tool twice and only recall selecting two updates the first time, and one the second time which was only a few days later - any other updates happened via M$ and not me. I've never liked the auto-updating feature and have tried for years to disable it on whatever computer I have had at the time. As the years pass it gets increasingly difficult to get the system to behave the way I want it to, and this is one example. I hate waking up in the AM to find the computer has rebooted itself w/updates without even giving me notice. To avoid losing where I was at, I've taken to temp bookmarking all my open tabs late in the day but sometimes I forget - that whole situation is frustrating! I used to get way more into the guts of my computers than I do now, so if the task I'm attempting isn't too difficult I can get it done - but if it's too technical, I don't touch it any more.

As per the screenshot in your post #40, four updates were installed by you via Windows Update MiniTool. Any other updates were Microsoft Defender updates, which were installed by my VBScript. M$ had no place in these updates.

I didn't make any notes as to what I installed - perhaps I should have - in any event, I'm only answering your question to the best of my recollection. If I've made an error, I apologize.
