    Flashing CMD screen

    Hi all,
Got another sneaky one I’m getting spasmodic flashes of the CMD screen popping up in the back ground. Only lasts a split second and then gone. Everything is running OK but this is something new. What I’ve done:

Run SFC all OK. Run Chkdsk all OK, Rolled back my graphics driver. Run full scans with Avast, Malwarebytes, SAS. Nothing has been installed lately apart from the Nvidia driver which I removed and no major changes or hiccups have been noticed.
    Any ideas?

When do this "spasmodic flashes of the CMD screen" occur shortly after you start \ restart Windows or at any time. Have you created some batch or powershell scripts and set them up to run automatically?

Have you taken a look in Task Scheduler to see if there are some scripts set up to run automatically?

    Hi and thanks,
no tasks are set to run, nothing is set to run automatically and the "flash" occurs at any random time, not often, say once an hour or so

You can achieve this with a Batch Script. I normally Uninstall OneDrive directly after installation.

Search for CMD in Autoruns, if a task uses it directly, it should show up.

Good idea by @TairikuOkami. If you are interested, see here for more information and download . . .

    > Autoruns for Windows v13.100 - < Information.
    > Download Autoruns and Autorunsc (2.6 MB) - < Downloads DIRECTLY when Clicked.

Autorunsc is the CMD Line version of Autoruns, which you do NOT really need for the initial test and information you require.

    I hope this helps.

I use to get a popup cmd widow when browsing - I enabled a screen recorder - and found the culprit - as I could pause the video when it popped up the see what was running... It turned out to be a software Auto Update Feature..
