Problem with opening jpeg files on tablet/windows 10

    Hello,

has there been any updates lately which have caused a problem with viewing of jpg files ie photos, on tablets on a desktop ?

I am getting an error message saying the file type is not supported or the file is corrupted. This is happening with both of my tablets.

Jpg files held on the desktop are fine, its only if I scroll through the ones that are backed up on the tablet.

PS I'm sure this has never happened before, but I'm questioning it now.......

    (Version 2004)

    Edit

it seems i have switched on the ransomware attack protection button, and I remember doing this yesterday when my malwarebytes trial period ended.

Could this be the source and am I best off leaving that button on or off ? I backup ALL my files on usb flash drives and a portable hard disk

Sorry, just to phrase this differently. I am unable to view photographs on my phone or tablet when the android device is connected to a desktop.

I might be wrong, but I don't think this has happened before.

Is there a compatibility problem between android devices and microsoft 10 photos, or has something gone wrong with my settings ?

Sorry I can't help, but just wanted to mention how this seems very similar to my problem with my android phone. For some reason I cannot edit my own post to add that I can actually view a jpg image once, but after that every time I go to view it again (Or even try to open a different jpg image) I get the same error as you. My post has been added to the Drivers and Hardware forum.
