How is your old PC running with Windows 10? Would you say it is slower than it has been with Windows 7? Or is it about the same? (I won't ask if it got faster... ;-) )
My Dell is running just the same as Windows 7. I have not noticed any speed change at all.

The boot time on my Dell is much faster with Windows 10. I used to be able under Windows 7 (and Xp) go take a piss, and it will still be booting up. Now....its at my desktop screen when I come back.

Toshiba Satellite L40 (Windows Vista - bought it mid 2007, I think.)

Increased RAM to 2GB and replaced HDD with SSD, over the years.

Still working fine for administrational work and even programming in .NET. I don't play games, but I guess it wouldn't be fast enough for it.

No clue about, restart time, but I'll check it... Probably around 3 minutes I'm guessing. (Hoping )

UPDATE: Restart-Time -> Your computer takes 117 seconds to completely restart.

Even faster than I thought. :) This includes typing in my password at startup.

HP d4996t new June 2008. Still original hardware. Originally Vista, then 7, then 8, then 8.1 and yesterday installed 10 in 93 minutes without a hitch or hiccup. I do remember the challenges ten or 20 years ago when doing updates or upgrades or whatever that could take hours and multiple retries due to dial-up phone line problems or MS problems or whatever. Had to start over most times from scratch after an interruption. I could have slept through the 10 upgrade yesterday. Progress indeed, and appreciated. And it still is a lot of fun for me!

think about buying a SSD drive and use it along with your HDD
My PC with 2GB is the same specification with SSD, it runs as fast as the wind blows. Hopefully will run another few years. Never Imagine could be that fast, mine bought in 2008.

So ive heard that Windows 10 can run on some fairly old PC's Let see who here is running the oldest setup with Windows 10 installed

I have a laptop, a Dell Insprion 1520, which was bought brand new in May, 2008. It had Windows Xp on it. I then did an upgrade to Windows 7. I took the free upgrade to Windows 10.

So, anyone here have an older setup than mine that is running Windows 10?
I have a DIY desktop from just after when Windows XP x64 released (April 2005). I think I got it in the summer of that year. I had to replace my video card for Windows 10, but that's all.

I also have an HP laptop that came with Vista that I bought new in late 2007.

My System was originally made around 2003 as a Barebones MSI "MBox" system, I replaced the MB with an Asus M2N-SE around 2006, running XP and then 7 for years, with a progression of NVidia graphics cards. It runs Windows 10 rather well except for KB3081444 which hosed me and caused me to so a system restore.
