    I don't.

No, not because I have anything against Win 7. Far from it, I have kept it on one old laptop, and use it regularly (never on the web though)

Like I said, it's on the shelf. Along with 95- 98- 98SE We'll bypass ME. XP Love. 7 Love. 10! Took some getting used to but Love. Windows 11... I's like the COVID Mask. You see the eyes of windows 10 but its just a mask. Underneath it's 10. I have a VM of each OS I mentioned and yes I have them online. Just for fun "In VM"

I'm pretty sure mine could run 11 too, but the TPM is deactivated because it was causing problems whenever I booted into linux. (I set a password on the bios and the SSD as an antitheft measure, then promptly forgot the bios password.)

Does the BIOS password get reset to NONE if you remove the CR2032 battery for a few minutes?

I haven't tried that, mainly because disassembling this machine is an exercise in frustration... for example, you have to remove the keyboard to get at two of the memory slots. And if I break something, the only way to get spare parts is to find another machine. Not an IT professional by any means, but I try to learn basic maintenance on everything I buy. I'll have to clear out whatever dust has accumulated in the past year, so I'll give it a try then.

Edit: Looked up the hardware specs and found out the TPM is version 1.2, so 11 is a nonstarter unless Microsoft ends their obvious push to render working hardware obsolete.

The two Athlon 64 based PCs c. 2006 I have discussed are now working fine on Windows 10 21H1.
It's so amazing to see and read about these older machines still kicking. And I thought my 8 year old laptop is "old" 😱😅.
Ps. I'm still running v2004 of windows 10.

Came here to ask this question. I doubt most of the machines mentioned in this thread are still operable.

    Hi,
    More over here

Let's run Win10 on really really old hardware
My acer aspire 3800 from 2009 is still running fine
I recently stole it's 980ti graphic's card off it to add to my x99 rig though but the 3800 has onboard graphic's so it will still work and has 21h2 on it I believe maybe 21h1 can't remember but also has win-7 and linux mint 20.2 also on it.
