Thanks for replying! I guess that's very true. The C: drive is the original Hitachi 80 GB disk that the machine came with, not a speed monster exactly . The thing is, I consider it a bit of a sport to see what I can accomplish with minimal investments. But the SSD option is definitely worth considering. Woud be nice to try one out and see what difference it makes. At the moment, I have a spare 1 TB HDD lying around that I could try out, as a first step. Like I said, it's fun tinkering with old hardware.
