    Question about boot order

I have a question about boot order. I have an Optiplex 9020 with Windows 10 21H1 on a 240 gb ssd and a 1 tb hdd for storage. Windows boots just fine but I was looking in bios and noticed that my first boot device is 'hard drive' rather than 'windows boot manager.' Can someone explain this to me. All my other Windows 10 devices say windows boot manager. It looks like my boot time might increase if I could boot from windows boot manager. I was unable to upload two photos of my bios to this site that I took with my cell phone but you can see them here:

Your 1st and only boot device should be your SSD, disable anything else that may be listed.

If you want to boot into something else, then you would just bring up the one time Boot Menu, not the Bios.

AddRAM, Yes I understand that. I have 2 pcs on my desk-both uefi-windows 10 installed on ssd's on both. One shows first boot device as "Windows Boot Manager"(no second boot device is listed) so it is booting from windows boot manager. The second PC shows first boot device as UEFI-Hard Drive. I checked my husband's PC which has Windows 10 installed on a Sata hard drive. It's an older PC without uefi and his first boot device is the hard drive. I am just trying to understand the difference.

This could just be the difference in the way manufacturers implement their BIOS designs and terminology, you can test which disk you are booting from easily, just unplug power or data cable from the standard hard drive, if your machine boots then it is using the SSD/ NVME, if it doesn't boot then Windows is either installed to the HDD or it is possible some of the Windows boot files have been installed to the HDD, Windows installer is known to do this sometimes.
You can fix it by unplugging the HDD when installing Windows or after the event by moving the boot files to the SSD in the case of split install, pretty sure there are tutorials on this forum for doing just that or in the case of Windows being entirely installed to the wrong drive (looking at you OEMs) use an app like Macrium Reflect Free to image the HDD then restore to the SSD (SSD needs to be as big or bigger than the HDD) tutorials on these forums as well.

The difference is just in the terminology. They all boot from the Windows Hard Drive.
BOOTMGR file itself is both read-only and hidden. It is located in the root directory of the partition marked as Active in Disk Management.
