    Safe to delete Apps.ppkg?

The following's copied and pasted from windows 10 - Safe to delete Apps.ppkg? - Super User.
    ―――――
    1. I must reduce HD disk space. How safe is deleting Apps.ppkg? Its size is 3.6 GB. I use Windows 10. I must double check because another program file usmt.ppkg MUST NOT be deleted.

    2. I read this abstruse explanation of Apps.ppkg, but I don't understand it. Please explain it like I'm 5?

It doesn't clearly advise if deleting is safe. In actuality, the last sentence suggests that deletion ISN'T safe — because if deleting is safe, why would you need make "a backup of the file on external storage"???

Are you asking because you are short of disk space OR without in any manner, being insulting to the way you run your system, are you one of these people who are always looking for tweaks - etc such as this in the mistaken belief that such things make windows run faster.

If the tutorial/post doesn’t clearly say it’s safe to delete then it’s not safe to remove imo.
If you do proceed then ensure you have a full system image backup with Macrium reflect free or your preferred imaging software. Also ensure you create their rescue/boot media.

Rather then deleting possibly needed system files to save space, why not get a bigger drive and clone your smaller drive to the larger one. Prices on SSD's and HDD's have come way down.
If that is not possible, then if you have a secondary HDD for data installed on your computer you can move the User files location to the secondary drive (ie) C:\Users\UserName\ move to D:\ or whatever. . Here are instructions to move the location of the Documents folder, you can do this for all of the User files to save space (ie) Desktop, Downloads, Music, Pictures etc. If disaster strikes on your OS drive, your User files will automatically be backed up to the new location on the other drive. This will also free up a lot of space.

A SuperUser discussion from 2019 makes a good suggestion: create a copy on a backup device, then delete the original. If it causes problems, you can copy the backup to its original location. I'd also recommend an image backup, in case it somehow affects Windows operating ability (I don't think this will happen, but better safe than sorry). Make the image backup first, then cut the original and past it to a different drive.
