    How To Freeze Task Manager

Sometimes I have something that I can't shut down so I go to Task Manager to find the process and kill it.
But Task Manager keeps updating and the rows jump up and down so frequently I can't find the process, highlight it, instruct to kill it.
How can I 'freeze' task manager while I do this?

From Task Manager, click View --> Update Speed --> Pause.

These suggestions will freeze it, but the way you describe the problem, it is not sorted correctly making it jump as you say. Click the column header "Name" to sort the processes alphabetically and that will likely stop the jumping around.

Thanks all for the input. I'll sort, as you say, I'll remember (put in my little paper notebook) the cmd line thing and I used the option to freeze and I got rid of the thing. Sorry for not being more alert... I should have found that option, shouldn't I? Ah well... :)
