Windows 11 is being released on June 24 ....confused ?

Doing a Google search i found results on Windows 11 being released on June 24...now the question is will it be called Windows 11 or will it be a usual Windows 10 update called 21H something with a new version number and there are various Youtube videos about it..and apparently there is a leaked ISO download for Windows 11...surely this cannot be a complete new operating system just a fresh new design, with various tweaks as Microsoft has not really announced it yet.

I was going to install the leaked ISO file on my test computer but wary of anything that is ' leaked ' as i prefer official announcement from Microsoft.

June 24th is next week and Microsoft is being quiet about it for some reason...

My OS is Windows 10 Pro 21H1 vwersion 19043.1055 with latest updates.

is windows 11 better than windows 10

    Windows 11??

    Try reading the above.

June 24th is when MS makes an announcement, not a release.

    Don't install leaked builds.

Well they said June 24th, what more is there to say? And as you said, that leak is not official, it is not even Dev, though some call it as such. For all we know, it might be fake and it might not be even called Windows 11, it might be an elaborate promotion to draw the attention, it sure did. Lets just sit it out, 5 more days to go.

Hopefully, Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are fake.

I agree, especially about TPM. Older PCs many are still using may not even have TPM connectors.

I found no such connectors on my motherboard.

I'm dreaming since 10 arrival of an operating system that gets rid of old machines. Windows 11 seems to be the spark plug. Also, Debian packages of mainline Kernel remove old machines too.

You must be a very good geek to run the latest Kernel in a Focal Fossa base system with secure boot enabled. The process generates an error (broken header) and block update manager from running. +1

For the rest, it's now time to buy a new machine with the Pro edition.

    Bye-bye Legacy mode,

    -Secure Boot Status

    Code:
    Confirm-SecureBootUEFI
    True
    -TPM Status

    Code:
     wmic /namespace:\\root\cimv2\security\microsofttpm path win32_tpm get IsEnabled_InitialValue
    IsEnabled_InitialValue

    TRUE
    Code:
     wmic /namespace:\\root\cimv2\security\microsofttpm path win32_tpm get IsActivated_InitialValue
    IsActivated_InitialValue

    TRUE
    Code:
     wmic /namespace:\\root\cimv2\security\microsofttpm path win32_tpm get IsOwned_InitialValue
    IsOwned_InitialValue

    TRUE
    -TPM Version

    Code:
     Get-WMIObject –class Win32_Tpm –Namespace root\cimv2\Security\MicrosoftTpm |select PsComputerName,SpecVersion

    PSComputerName SpecVersion
    -------------- -----------
    DESKTOP-XXH49FN 2.0, 0, 1.16

    -Build Number

    Code:
    Get-WmiObject Win32_OperatingSystem |
Select PSComputerName, Caption, OSArchitecture, Version, BuildNumber | FL

    PSComputerName : DESKTOP-CCF41BZ

    My PC has no TPM.
    Code:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> WMIC /namespace:\\root\cimv2\security\MicrosoftTPM path Win32_TPM
    No Instance(s) Available.

That's how Microsoft can single-handedly ban 90 percent of PCs from using a new version of Windows.
