As for the registry entry... you should have it. Mine looks like this...

If you don't have the Desktop folder on the left side, then you have a problem.
If you don't have the "DockMoving" value on the right side you can create it. I believe it's a "string value"

You might want to check your other laptops to see if they have this registry entry.

    Weird!
On my Dev machine, if I manually size the window, it remembers, but if I Snap it, it doesn't!

On my main machine not so, it remembers everything!

If you hold down the left Shift key and continue holding and resize and position the window to your liking. Hit the X and release the Shift key. Windows should remember the size and position of the window. I tested this on my system and it works.

I just tried that on my system.

    Snap It = NO

    Manual Resize = Yes

ok i did a complete reset and the first few time when i started up the laptop the screen went to the left side. so i moved it to the right and then closed it and shut down the pc and restarted it and so far it seems to be staying on the right side. if it goes back tot he left i will just have to live with it and move my icons to the right side and lock them there. so fo now this is done as i will not mess with it anymore. thanks for all the help.
