how to keep the screen on the right side

i asked this yesterday but maybe not very good so here it is again. i have win10 using a hp probook 6465b laptop.
    ver 21h1 build 19043.1052
this never happened until about a week ago. but this is the issue. i have my browser screen set to about 2/3 and all the way to the right side, so i can see the desktop icons for times i need to launce one. when i do not have to launch i click that box up next to the x upper right side and i get a double box. so when i want to launch a desktop icon and click that double box to get the screen back to the original size it goes to the left side and covers the icons and i have to move the browser screen back to the right.

i have tried xing out of the browser screen and turning off the pc and then the next time i want to see the desktop icons and click that double box the browser screen again goes to the left and covers the icon so i have to again move it over to the right side.

so how do i keep it on the right side. this is the first pc i have ever had that did this, i must have clicked on something to tell the browser screen to move to tej left when i click that double box. thanks bp

Generally most of my programs will remember where they were when Windows is shut down but not when the program is closed first. If wanting to just see the Desktop momentarily I use Peek and if wanting to click an icon I activate the Desktop Toolbar on Taskbar settings which prevents having to deal with open programs first.

Just a guess... but maybe Aero Snap ??
To turn it off... go to this registry key...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop, and change the string value named DockMoving, from 1 (one), to 0 (zero).
Might have to reboot to make the change, take effect.

If that doesn't help you can always change it back.

Generally, where ever a Window is when you close it... is where it should open, the next time.

    /edit

Also... I try to keep the Desktop icons down to a minimum. That way I just use Minimize (minus sign), to shrink a window down to the Taskbar.

thanks both i will see next time i use that pc tonight. i ran ccleaner last night and maybe it fixed whatever was doing that. my icons are whatever size window mas them. i guess i can make them a bit smaller but this size seem to work. they do not look as small as you show though. i will let you all know if ccleaner did fix it as i did run the registry cleaner also. i do have program on the taskbar but not all of them it gets to cluttered for my taste and sometimes its doing something and want to see if i have it already so i don't have to go thru another download
    thanks bp

Resize/position your Browser Window in the required 2/3 size and all the way to the right side.
Then use you Browsers Exit, Close options instead of the Close Cross in the top right corner.
Now open your Browser again to see if the size/position has remained.
The animation below uses the Firefox Browser.

Other Browsers have different ways in different menus to get the option.
    Example:

well that failed to bad. so i will do a restore and if that fails i guess i have to sive with it. this happens everyting it goes off sleep.
so to recap snap did not work
using chrome hamburg menu and exit failed
going to hkey did not work as i did not have that entry
going to max screen and turning off the pc failed
going to the regular size i set it to before using the max box failed.
ok this shot show where the screen goes when i click on the max box to go back to the original screen the space to the right would be where i want it to be not to the left.

ok that did not show good and for some reason i can't get a screen shot on that laptop so here are 2 photos showing what i have one if full screen and you see the double box in the upper right? when i click that to get back to the regular screen the pc2nd photo is where the screen goes and nothing is working to get it to the right side as all my other pc's so it is hard to see but you know how that box works when you click it to get the max screen.
