How to remove these "Folders" & "Devices and drives" from explorer

These seem redundant to have these displayed next to each other. I always use the left hand column instead. Why click "> Folder" when the contents are already displayed? Is there a way to remove/hide these from the file explorer main panel?

    I doubt it.
Set Explorer to open to Quick Access instead, in Folder Options.

Tx....but, Quick Access (redundant IMO) was removed earlier.

Not sure what you want. Subfolders of the selected folder will always display in both the Navigation Pane and the Folder Pane.

If you want to see the contents without the collapsed groups, set Group By to (None).

    Have Explorer open to Downloads...

    Hello @meebers,

I have mine set to open to This PC like this . . .

How to remove these "Folders" & "Devices and drives" from explorer-this_pc_open.png

I used the following REG Files > 64-bit_Remove_All_user_Folders_in_This_PC-RECOMMENDED.reg, and then ADDED back the > 64-bit_Restore_Desktop_Folder_in_This_PC.reg from here . . .

    > How Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10

Carefully look at the difference between OPTION 1 and OPTION 2.

I then set File Explorer [ Shortcut on the Taskbar ] to OPEN to This PC . . .

    > Set File Explorer to Open to This PC or Quick access by Default in Windows 10

The Devices and Drives are set to View by Content if you were interested.

    I hope this helps.

REF: www.tenforums.com/tutorials/6015-add-remove-folders-pc-windows-10-a-45.html, post 442, Paul Black, this is what would be acceptable to me. I may have to put back Quick Access though. (Looks like I will have to contend with "This folder is empty" when it obviously is.) Working on this implementation. Tx Paul for your Tut.

    Looking forward to Windows 12!
