    Hello

    WINDOWS 10 PRO H1/2021 version

I am having a hard time to get a Tasks scheduling to actually proceed at Start-up

I follow some guidance to set a Task schedule so I think I am doing things right but whatever I do to allow the program to launch after Windows reboot, its unsuccessful the program would not launch

Program in questions i Realtek Audio console but I tried some monitoring software like HWINFO or even Goolde chrome but again nothing happens.

I went through these 7fix troubleshooting 7 Tips to Fix Task Scheduler Not Running/Working Windows 10

    Fix 2 not possible
Fix 3 got also error message Task Scheduler issue, new Task created doesn't apply at Start-up-image.png
Fix 4 SFC dont find any corrupted file
Fix 5 can not access it
Task Scheduler issue, new Task created doesn't apply at Start-up-image.png

Fix 6 I dont understand the meaning
Fix 7 didnt make any difference

    Any advice is much appreciated

    thanks so much

    Oli,

1 Can you use Task scheduler at all?
    - Try creating a simple task that, say, runs Notepad.exe in two minutes time.

2 What is the task [task definition]?
    - Show everyone the tabs of the task definition & be sure to include every section in which you entered any setting.

3 Have you run it manually to see that the task itself runs on demand?

4 Is the task set to run with highest privileges? If so, you cannot run it at startup - try at login instead.

5 What does the task show onscreen when it runs? If it shows any kind of window at all, it cannot be set to run whether user is logged in or not.

Thanks for your reply, and apologize for the image uploading not matching the rules

    What I can share additionally

Task scheduler works I believe as I have several Programs in Task Mgr Start-up tab that function correctly and I can enable/disable them as well

I created a Notepad one and it worked

sorry not sure what you mean here
4 Is the task set to run with highest privileges? If so, you cannot run it at startup - try at login instead.

    No (see snapshot above)
5 What does the task show onscreen when it runs? If it shows any kind of window at all, it cannot be set to run whether user is logged in or not.

If I take Fan controlling software as reference, sure it should open a windows when it runs and that's typical of the other Programs I woudl like to set a task for

    Oli,

You do not need to apologize. And I don't know what you are apologizing for.

1 Your success indicates that the MiniTool article you linked to is not relevant. That article concerns problems with running Task scheduler itself rather than problems running tasks within it.
    - But Task scheduler & Task Mgr Start-up tab are two separate things. Entries in the Task Mgr Start-up tab are sometimes initiated by Task scheduler but not always.

2 But now I must apologize. Sorry, I meant the properties of the problem task not the test one [the notepad one].

3 In Task scheduler, right-click on your problem task & click on Run. Doing this can be very useful because it can help to distinguish between the cause of a problem being the task itself or being its task settings within TS.

4 Again, I meant the problem task not the test one.

5 Understood. So don't set the task property Run whether user is logged on or not [illustrated in your General tab diagram above]. This limitation is often the cause of problems for those new to Task scheduler.

thanks again, you pushed me to look better in my settings.

I used the Notepad I created as base and edited the exe target I was calling off and set for Task trigger "At Log on", rebooted and it works just fine now

sorry, that was certainly Operator fault at 1st so thanks again for having opened up my eyes here

I will mark the thread as solved
