A Guy
Hi all. Another newbie. Plenty of experience as a user since 1986 and for 15 years being an Administrator for a multi business site ERP system, but... Sorry, that should have been a BUT! As I get older, I have been getting a bit lost with all the changes in terms of what can or cant be done with a home PC/Laptop and the new words/phrases used by those in the know. Now retired I feel somewhat cast adrift, so any advice that can be given will be gratefully appreciated. I will do my best to make my posts as clear as I can. Thanking you all in advance, you will all be very much appreciated. Regards to all.
Welcome to Ten Forums.
I have a similar background to you, I was in an IT support company, and I spent many happy years outsourced to Cellnet as a network administrator.
When I retired I felt myself to be adrift for years, but then my Win7 laptop got the free upgrade to Win10 in August 2015 and I had a whole set of new challenges to get my teeth into It's what keeps my brain young and active. These days I'm busy running Insider Canary builds of Windows 11 on unsupported devices.
You've come to the right place, I have learned so much more here, probably more than I ever knew/used in my working life.

Thank you again Heather
Yep, I'm a noob here too, over from the States. I loved/love Win7 and still have it on a separate computer; I like Win10 well enough, but often need help with it, and will NOT give it up willingly to the likes of Win11 (hence, my username).
Thanks for having me here; a buddy on an online gaming forums page recommended y'all! :)
