Hi Bree, thank you for the reply! I'd been working with IBM Thinkpads back to the back-breaking 770's, the 760's, mostly replacing smashed screens, bad mobo's, wifi cards, HD's .. even dabbled in swapping spinny HD's in iPods with CFFlash cards, tripling battery life! I moved into the 400 series as they came off corporate leases use .. would get them by the pallet .. replace screens, and sell them to my pilot and Flt Attendant buds. XP, then Vista .. by then I moved into desktops .. cannibalizing what I could, buying at Goodwills, Micro Center (we lived in Va) and other small computer shops back east. I still have a bunch of old IBM 600's, T4x's, T6x's that I really cant do anything with, just havent taken them to the dump bc I cant even drop them at Goodwill, missing HD's, batt's, chargers, I have a bag of old SODIMMs that wont work in anything ..
You have 3.11 on a CD??? I only remember it being on a dozen or so 3.5" floppies .. AOL and CompuServe, were on CD's.
I got one of my desktops to successfully load and run 24H2 .. it's crashed a couypl times but data sent, and it's chugging along.. I'm installing a bunch of things on it to stress it down and see what'll crash and what doesnt.
Three diff builds, kewl, I LIKE that idea .. (looks on Amazon for 3 more 1tb SSD's), I dont think I want to dig down to Canary .. yet ..
I've still been trying to get Seven to install on my extreme gamer rig but it BSOD's right after initial load screen .. gotta turn on debugging to track .. havent tried Safe Mode yet .. tomorrow ..
The 24H2 rig behind me, I had a hard time finding TPM to turn it on .. but finally got it.. the dl'd iso from MS wouldnt run, got it from UUPDump, loaded it into Rufus and installed with no probs until Updates began crowding things .. one good thing .. 24H2 found drivers for a few items that 23H2 couldnt! The rig has only a 27" monitor, so I'm hoping this UUPDump iso will let me install it on a blank drive in my main gamer rig, I'll do my non-games to test that once it's done ..
