    Greetings all...

I'm the classic "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type of guy when it comes to tech. If it works for me, I'll use it until it burns or breaks because I hate change for the sake of change. Gets me into trouble sometimes which is why I'm here. I just upgraded to Win10 HE from 8.1 with plans to bump-up to 11 but due to my lack of understanding on how this stuff works, found out that my processor is NOT on the approved list, only after I bought the software and tried to install. So, I'm going to make the best of 10 for now. So far, it's been a PITA, but I'll get to that later.

Thank you all for having me.

Welcome to Ten Forums FTNR21. There are a lot of us in the same position that you are not being able to upgrade to W11 or not wishing to. There are ways to upgrade on unsupported hardware but of course that brings its own problems. If you are interested there is a thread about it on our sister site Eleven Forum. Let's install Windows 11 on incompatible hardware | Windows 11 Forum

That's awesome info! I read some posts that suggested that there was a way to get past that unsupported hardware issue but they didn't get into details. Thank you for the great tip.

    Hello, FTNR21.

    Welcome to TenForums.

Don't stress yourself over it. Win 10 will be supported for three more years, through October 14, 2025.

That allows you plenty of time to read and make an informed decision, on what to do next. I see that @kado897 has already pointed to the sister site Windows 11 Forum. I encourage you to register/read there as well, in preparation for the future.

    Best regards, WXC.

Yup. That's the second thing I did after I went over to check out the thread.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.
