    Hello everyone,

I love to network with other technical folks and offer my help in the area of document scanning to help solve technical problems for others.

Currently using Windows 11 on a new laptop. A slight learning curve but overall not too bad.

    Best,
    Scanner Guru

Hello All, Looking Forward to Sharing Skills, Knowledge, & Experience

Greetings! I am a mechanical designer for the past 25 years, I specialize in 3D modeling and the extraction of usable engineering drawings, a.k.a. "blueprints". I'm fortunate in that one of my passions is also my career, most days...
I have seen windoze change many times and rarely does it get any better than "just barely" better. To disguise this fact, much effort is expended by the microsnot team to misdirect our attentions, color and render buttons and background pictures (as we sheeple can't be expected to possess the tech savvy to collect our own), and constantly change the icons, names of their exciting "services" and "features", and hide anything that you've become accustomed to using regularly. And to further show their appreciation they have found it necessary to bully and even force "upgrades", "updates", "service" packs, and constant notices about how our version that has now been beaten into some semblance of a working order, will no longer be "SUPPORTED"... You may not have noticed, but there are 2 things that you can count on regarding a windows O.S.: (1) the "HELP" button provides slightly less than 0% help to any of the thousands of issues you will endure (2) any attempt to acquire support services that are not also accompanied by a handsome pile of cash, will be redirected to a kind of circular path until you see your tail.
With that said, even though I switched to Linux long ago; MS software is embedded in the workforce. From the offices to the desk in the warehouse, the vast majority of software is from Bill. Could be free and devoid of zillions of bugs, but we have to deal with that. for now.. I'm close enough to retirement that my give-a-damn is busted, so I can say it. Use real softs at home and tolerate MS Bsh1t until the world awakens. Learning curve isn't huge, the hassle of a bug, a worm, a virus, buying upgrades, ever increasing hardware to "match", nah... I won't rant any more, but someone needed to voice that. If I can assist with Windoze issues I will, we will all be needing plenty of that from each other. ;-) namaste
