    Start Tiles became Black

Hello,Recently updated the system with KB4562830.After restart, start menu tiles became black instead of blue as I had before.I do not mind the icons change in the menu, I just want the blue tiles back. In "Personalization - colors" tried "Light color" it all became white.Gone back to "Dark" and selected the blue color, all desktop became blue (wallpaper picture gone) but the tiles remain black. So now I am asking you for some help. Please see (combined) attached screenshots.Answers will be appreciated.Thanks.MotimAnd by the way, had to uninstall again "Edge" with "CCleaner", normal uninstall not working.System win 10 pro, winver 19042.985 x64

    Start Tiles became black

    Hello,
    Thanks for the answer.
Looked in some places - is not encouraging.
Tried the "Windows Tile Color Changer" - is not working.
It looks I'll have to get used to the black color.
Do not know what other surprises has microsoft in further updates / upgrades.
Have done an image backup before, may be I'll use it to go back to 19041.
    Thanks
    Motim

Well, the latest preview update for 21H1 and more introduces News & Interests- an icon on the taskbar. Widely reported- and experienced- this can give all sorts of problems with the System Tray. Mine vanished altogether if I chose to hide N&I.

    Hello,
Managed to get rid of that black color, hope it will stay. here is a screenshot.
What I did: opened settings > personalization > color, selected the color, and down after the colors checked the box Start, taskbar, and action center.
    Hope this will stay.

Yes, you can change the background.. point is the tiles are translucent, rather than truly a different colour as they were.

I guess I'm a little late answering this, but you can uninstall feature update 21H1 to get back the colored tiles. Obviously you don't want to uninstall security updates, but I think this one contains almost no security related updates, and it annoyed me enough that I decided to post this solution everywhere I can find a question about it. I think Feature update 21H1 provides an improvement to Windows Defender optimization, so keep that in mind.

If you want to install feature update 21H1, go to:
    1) Settings (press win+i)
    2) Update & Security
    3) View update history
    4) Uninstall updates
    5) Highlight Update 21H1
    6) Click Uninstall
    7) Restart computer

Now you should be able to get your colored Start Menu tiles back. Hopefully Microsoft creates a better feature update that doesn't remove features soon.

Of course all this changes in Win 11 - no live tiles, no grouping... and the appearance is different anyway. If you don't want to suffer MS's vagaries, use an independent and far more flexible and practical start menu e.g. Open Shell (free). (No tiles at all - but full drag 'n drop support and much more)
