Computer Immediately Wakes Up After Sleep Mode Puts It to Sleep

The Sleep Mode puts my machine to sleep then the machine immediately wakes up.

Rebooting has not helped, nor has changing the Sleep Mode Settings.

I have not found any solutions in the Internet.

Thanks for any thoughts and guidance.

I am not an expert but i had similar problems some time ago.

    You can check two things:

    1)
In a command prompt window (run as administrator) type: "powercfg -lastwake" without the quotes and note the space. This should return what device is waking your pc.

    2)
In my case it was the network adapter that kept waking up my pc.
I changed the following settings in device manager > network adapater > Right click on the "make of your network adapter" > Properties > Advanced:
    Disable following:
    - wake on pattern match /pattern recognition
    - wake on magic package

    Mike,

Sleep problems are often caused by display driver malfunctions. The initial step should be to go to Dell's support site, download the display driver again then reinstall it.
    - There is no diagnostic test that would be able to detect a corrupted display driver so reinstalling it can be viewed as a method of eliminating it as a potential cause of the problem.

You could also reinstall the WiFi driver and, while you are there, check for any updated Bios. But last wake reports can be misleading anyway.
    - This search indicated that the device you mentioned was your WiFi card USB\VID_413C&PID_2010\7&4a52781&0&1 at DuckDuckGo

    Best of luck,
    Denis

    Hi mike,

    Many items in the Device Manager might have a Power Management tab in device properties that have the following option;

Allow this device to wake the computer. HID keyboards, mouse and Network cards, often have this option.

Take a tour of your Device Manager and confirm that none of these options are set.
