Top left corner icon keeps moving

Ever since i updated from version 1903 the PC icon i have sitting in the top left corner gets moved after every restart. Its been doing the same in 2020 and 20H2 versions, anyone know why and how to stop it doing that?

Have you disabled 'Auto arrange icons'?

Right-click on desktop then 'View' and 'Auto arrange icons' should be unticked.

I get the same or similar problem with my setup, every time I start Windows, the top left icon in my group of 12 (This PC) is loaded in the top left corner of the screen, all the other icons load correctly in the block of 12. I have to move the stray icon back into the block on every start up?
    I run Windows 10 pro build 20H2 19042.985.

Just Just guessing here but do you guys have the 'Recycle Bin' icon hidden or is it showing?

If it is hidden then maybe that space is "Reserved" for the "Recycle Bin" icon and Windows moves any other icon away from it.

Try 'showing' the icon and see if that helps. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...b-338818d5e5fb

No the Recycle bin is on a different part of the desktop and is visible? The stray icon we are talking about is on top left (empty) corner of screen.

This is the top left corner of my screen. These are the only icons I have on my Desktop. These icons never move...

No it has nothing to do with the recycle bin i have that below the pc icon.

I just did a test by moving a random different icon into that top left corner space and rebooted and it was still there then put my PC icon back there and rebooted and it moved again, it does the same thing on both my laptop and desktop. It seems to be something to do with the PC icon, iv now tried deleting the pc icon and replacing it from the start menu and see if that does anything at all.

This is what happens on every single boot, the "This PC" icon loads in top left corner, when I move it back into the block it stays there until the next startup, then is back in the top left corner again?
