The way that I dual boot is by keeping all of the boot partitions for each OS on the SSD that I store that OS. I do not use a GRUB menu to select my different operating systems, I simply use my native boot menu which is separate from my BIOS settings/menu.

    Thank you - pparks1 - Megahertz - Rocky.
Helpful information ... will do some more reading on VM / hyperV / VirtualBox ... but options 3 or 4 still look good.

Let's not forget WSL. I run Ubuntu under WSL.

Windows and Linux are simultaneously available.
    I couldn't live without that.

    Thank you - margrave55

Just done in-place upgrade to 20H2 and still waiting on the second drive.
Probably going for the F12 (on this Dell) option and keep the second drive as a portable between two machines.
Thanks to everyone for help and advice. Over and out. Paul

What is the F12 option? Is that the method that I have been recommending to you or is it something else?

    Thanks - Rocky.
Version 4 from my list on original post.
On this Dell the bios function key F12 creates the one time boot option list (having earlier enabled in Bios.
Currently have all boot options made available but have admin password required for everything except internal ssd and before this machine is taken into public places will have admin password for all boots.
