You appear to have missed post #8 - this post identifies your problem and states how to avoid it.

OK, when you're already in D: there's no need to specify D: again. So, you seemed to have successfully navigated to the subdirectory \Misc\ which contains the longfilename.mkv
Excellent.
For future reference, when you're navigating directories, don't specify the file name, that's the target once you arrive in the correct subdirectory.
Wait, you can read the longfilename.mkv already in your screenshot. just type del andtheentirelongname.mkv + return.
If you type dir *.mkv you should see all files in that directory with an .mkv extension. Locate the one you want to remove and type del thereallylongfilename.mkv + return.
Sorry Jeff, as Denis mentioned, you must add " at the beginning and end of your command to accommodate for the spaces. So D:\...\Misc\del "really long name.mkv" + enter.

From your screenshot in post #10, I can see that you're navigated to the correct directory that contains the file you want to delete. I see the filename in that post is;
Edit PDF Like Word With Wondershare PDFelement.mkv
So proceed as follows;
D:\z Install Files\zxOffice, Misc Details Fraud 2013\Misc> del "Edit PDF Like Word With Wondershare PDFelement.mkv"
This is the file name.
Thanks Denis, That's clearly the (cmd syntax) answer ... but ... executing that command has the cursor move to the next line and it just hangs there, same as my other direct delete attempts. i.e. looks like the file is locked. I've confirmed in task manager the App it relates to is not running.
I deleted another unneeded file from the same directory with no problems.
This gonna sound ridiculous but i swear it's worked for me. Actually open Winrar, then use the navigation tree to get to the file location & select the file then try the delete button from within winrar...it's dumb but i've gotten rid of pesky files that wouldn't otherwise delete that way b4.
jdU,
If you are now using the correct syntax but the file will not delete then you can try moving all other files & all subfolders out of that directory then use this procedure

This might work for you.
Left click on file/folder.
Right click on the selection.
Left click on "properties"
Left click on "details" tab.
At the bottom of the window,left click on "remove properties and personal information"
In the new window,left click on second Radio button "remove the following properties from this file".
In the same window,left click "select all".
Then left click "O.K."
In the "details" tab window,left click "O.K."
Hopefully should now be in the Recycle bin.
Try using the BAT file in option 7 to delete the folder after moving other files into a different folder.

Note: the folder will be permanently deleted.
