Disable sleep mode with some programs

Hi, the only way that immediately comes to mind is this:

For each such program, launch it with a small Autohotkey (free scripting language) script that does this:
a. Launch the program
b. Launch Dont Sleep (a free program which- amongst other things- prevents sleep - has some command line options)
c. In a loop, test for presence of the launched program.
If not present, close Dont Sleep and exit the script.

OR
Have just one such script, but
- in a loop test for presence of any such programs and if present, launch Dont Sleep.
- in a second loop, close Dont Sleep if no such programs running
- return to first loop.
