    windows 10 build

I found my Win 10 build. it's 21364.co_release.2,T94 6-584 Home Windows 10. It won't update due to a dead battery. Unfortunately, I cannot afford another battery now. It updates-then it shuts down-when I start it it "undoes" all the updates. Sounds like a money deal to buy batteries. Anyway around this?

Joenamvet hello and welcome to TF ,
It won't update even if AC adapter is plugged in? What model is this PC that you can't find a battery for?

I would not be at all surprised to find that the battery is not the cause of your updating problem.

Laptops can generally work correctly if the battery is absent - try removing it so you can see the updating behaviour without it.
Even if it is an internal battery, the laptop's service manual will show you how to remove the battery. Many computer maker's provide the service manual for download on their support site.

It won't update due to a dead battery.
    - what indication do you get that causes you to attribute the problem to your battery?

It is strongly recommended that you do not attempt updates when running only on battery (in case the update - especially upgrades- take longer than the battery can continue to supply power).

It updates-then it shuts down-when I start it it "undoes" all the updates.
Upgrades in particular (rather than updates) can fail to complete and be rolled back, although experience can vary.

To help you at all, the make and model of the device, together with its approx. age and a URL for its driver page, and especially a screenshot of your Update History showing which update or upgrade is failing are needed to start with.

Tutorials are available to help you complete specifications. See 'My computers' under my post for comparison.
I don't quite understand the build number you quote I'm afraid.

21364 is an Insider build- so anything might happen of course, and may not be fixable by known means.

You might wish to compare notes with the thread for your build in the News section.
