How can I fix this mistake I made when I reloaded W10?

How can I correct this screw up after re downloading w10??
I have been having several minor glitches with my Asus GL 552 laptop which I thought may be a bad file in w10 so I re loaded downloaded W10
Long story short now my wifi is gone, and my system restore doesn’t work The asus keyboard is longer backlit Im sure there are many other problems yet tobe discovere
There are now 2 window program folders in my os
Windows and 10 and Windows.old
As I can no longer do a system restore, Is there any way I could fix these problems by deleting the new windows folder and renaming the Windows.old folder to Windows?

If windows old is there you can just role back to the old windows

You could use another computer to download the drivers from Asus website, save them to a USB flash drive, then load the drivers from the USB flash drive.

Whenever you reinstall Windows you will loose your System Restore Points. Also, you will get a new C:\Windows.old directory. This will include any User files you may be missing since the Reinstall, it will also give you the option to Revert to the previous version of Windows.
Whenever Windows is reinstalled, you may have to download drivers. Press the Windows key+X and choose Device Manager. Any devices with yellow flags need to have drivers installed.
If you can use an Ethernet Cable or as stated, use a different internet computer and go to the Asus drivers site, type in your make and model # or use this link ROG GL552JX - Support and download the Chipset driver first, install it and restart, then download the WiFi adapter drive and any other drivers you need from the Device Manager.

This is completely unclear.

As you have Windows.old you have presumably performed an upgrade within the last 10 days.

Here are some possible scenarios given you say you downloaded Win 10:
a. in-place upgrade repair install: you downloaded an iso of the same major build and performed an upgrade type process using that.
b. you upgraded from an older build using a current iso you downloaded.
c. you clean installed Win 10 using an older build and that then upgraded.

Could you clarify what you actually did?

In the majority of cases an upgrade requires no extra drivers to be downloaded. However, this can be necessary if, for example, the hardware is older and a driver is missing or a later driver supplied with the upgrade proves incompatible.

Sometimes, particularly after a clean install, certain drivers are needed that are specific to the hardware, only available from the manufacturer- e.g. to support back lighting or special keys.

As said above, System Restore cannot reverse an upgrade. Restore points using registry data and files relating to the previous build are not relevant to the new build, thus these are deleted. If they could be used, corruption would occur.

As already remarked (post 3), it sounds like you're just missing some drivers. If you have access to another PC, download them to a USB drive and install them from that. If you just do the WiFi drivers, you'll be able to go online to get the other drivers using the laptop itself.

ROG GL552JX - Support

I'm not sure whether "Asus GL552" is an adequate descriptor for the laptop. You may need to find the correct download site for your exact model.

If you decide to restore the old system, note that you have a finite period of time to do that. I believe that it's 10 days. My receommendation is just to get the new install working, though. It shouldn't take much work.
