    Tagging photos

    Hello

i need a program to search through my photo collection and do facial recognition, so will be presented with all photos that have ‘ Fred’ which I identified from a previous photo. Once I have all the ‘Fred’ photos displayed, then by selecting all I can add the TAG ‘Fred’ to the file properties field ‘metadata’.

looked at windows live gallery, but it looks as though it groups the photos into its own folders and can’t tell if it will do what I want.....any thoughts please, I have 1000s of photos to sort and tag with names.

    thanks

It's a shame Google decided to retire Picasa in favor of Google Photos, I always liked it.
    Moving on from Picasa

Well it looks like it’s Picassa I need, hope it still works ok with windows 10, seems like I can search for people matches and then tag them in the file properties Exif data, sounds perfect, unless I have misunderstood something.....thanks

The problem may still exist (or maybe not) .... last time I used Picassa for image management (admittedly, many many years ago, when it was still very much "active"), all the images I used turned up in the public domain when anyone used Google search with a word (mostly places/locations) that was contained in the image name.
