However, to the first, the censoring can be tamed by toggling off 'Family Filter'.
That it is filtering, not censoring.

To the second, Startpage also offers a way to circumvent cookies.
I hadn't tried it for a while. You're correct that it offers the choice between a settings cookie or settings URL.
I just tried it (StartPage) again and bookmarked it. However the option to play videos seems to be missing which is a deal breaker for me.

However, like you said, there is no single search engine that does everything the same or better than the others. Hence the need to swap to get the desired search results in some cases. For example:

Note: Uses Google advanced search operators.

    Hello Callender,

    Thank you sir,

Obviously (my fault), I am missing the point on playing videos, as I have not experienced this issue. I will however, delve into it further now, out of curiosity and personal learning. I appreciate you bringing the matter to my (as well as others) attention.

Also, thank you, for bringing 'FileChef', to my attention, as I was unaware of it. I will certainly have a look.

No offence intended, to either yourself or TairikuOkami, in my previous post.

Best regards, gentlemen. Take care, stay safe.
