Desktop icons suddenly have no drop down menus
Right clicking icons no longer displays the dropdown menu with options
delete, copy, share, open with, etc.
Can someone please advise how to fix this problem?

Hi, history: (so often omitted by posters)
- when did this start?
- what happened just before that?
If it started very recently, have you tried using a System Restore point?
What happens if you create a new user account for test purposes and log in as that user? Do you see the same thing?
Are you seeing
- no context menu entries
or
- only some context menu entries (i.e. particular ones are missing?)
A screenshot could help.
Do the desktop and taskbar go blank for a few seconds when you rt click? (I.e. explorer crashes).
Thanks for your reply...answer to your questions follows

Thanks. A couple of basics:
Does right click in any context do anything - e.g. within a program window? I.e. is your mouse working?
Does this problem relate only to your desktop or to file and folder icons in an file explorer dialogue?
Do you see the same problem in Safe Mode?
