There's nothing wrong with posting relevant questions in a tutorial. People do it all the time.

But your question [both here & there] lacks enough information upon which an answer could be based. Different file types have different Properties available and they behave in different ways.
    - You'll need to state what file type [file extension & the name of the application used to create/edit the file] you are talking about.
    - You will probably also need to post screenshots of the dialog you are using to do the change so that people can see both the Title field and the Subject field together - both before & after a change.

I do not know if I will be able to help. I just spotted the lack of data.
    - I would not be at all surprised to find that some file types have linked Title & Subject fields whilst others can set them differently.
    - I would also not be surprised to find that some file types cannot be changed reliably in the Properties dialogues but can be changed within relevant applications.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

I am changing the properties in Image files, varying between Jpg and Tiff, I change the title property in windows explorer, but when I click ok or apply the text is ‘copied’ to the subject field, maybe there is a third party GUI App that can be suggested, which allows lossless changing of individual properties without changing others as well.....thanks

I've just checked a jpg and I can use File explorer to set its Properties, Details - Title & Subject as I wish.

My png files do not have either of these Properties.

I don't have any other image file types [extensions] examples to test.

Tried with Jpgs and Tiffs & now it’s not happening anymore, really don’t understand, I actually saw the subject field filling in as I changed the title field.....very odd......

Thanks for your help.......some things in life never can be explained

Any thoughts on the best way to bulk lossless change Exif properties....on image files, pixvue is recommended but can’t find a guide for it, even the email on the website doesn’t work

Happened again yesterday, did several image files at once, had a theory that if I did it using windows but photoshop was open it caused the problem, but closed it amd still a problem....closed everything down then tried again and ok.....curious, but annoying

You might want to keep an eye on
    Photo Viewer app???

In the initial post, the visible portions of Title & Subject were the same. It would be disruptive to ask about your topic now but when that OP's app question is answered, you might like to compare symptoms.

    All the best,
