I would strongly advise against TrueCrypt. The first words on their web site:
"WARNING: Using TrueCrypt is not secure as it may contain unfixed security issues"
    It was discontinued years ago.
    Hi,

I agree, further, it would be unwise to dis-regard such warnings but there is a story behind those words, so continued using it.

I look at it this way, I got nothing the Chinese or Russians want, our own security services including the police--none of their business.

And being a little skeptical, I'm not convinced, products like TC, Bit-Locker and several others have not been compromised--back door kinda thing.

There are some awfully smart people out there who eat, sleep, crack these type of products.

The really secure, uncrackable products/methods are probably not available for public consumption.

I have nothing the Chinese want either, so I don't need such products/methods.

Well if you're that skeptical I'm not sure anything on the market will suit your needs.

And as a reminder.... security is only as good as the weakest link.... the end user.

    Good luck.

I use TC, that suits my needs.

Hopefully good encryption products/methods negates that weakest link.

Nope. Cyber security 101.... the weakest kink is the human factor. The only thing that negates that is ourselves
