    Remap a key without any 3rd party software?


    Hello,

    I want to remap/disable f10 without use of 3rd part programs! I found 2 tutorials, which concur on how to do it... is using registry and changing scan codes. I did that and restarted PC, however it doesn't work!

    This is to remap f10 to f9. I also tried to leave 00 there to disable it. Both didn't work. Strange, I found 44 to be scancode for f10 on microsoftdocs - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/pre...ectedfrom=MSDN
    And judging from 2 sites, I Am doing it correctly. Any idea why it doesn't work? Thanks!

    Rather than a third-party utility, would you be willing to use a Microsoft utility?

    The latest version of PowerToys for Windows, from Microsoft, has a keyboard manager tool that can be used to remap keys. I have not tried it so I can't offer an opinion as to how well it works. See this article for details:
