ctrl + c ctrl + v not working
Some time ago ctrl c and v stopped working. I've exhausted most searches for a solution and tried everything I saw with no luck. Can anyone here help?

Hi, just to check- given the title- does your CTRL key ever do anything in any context? E.g. CTRL A?
I assume c & v keys are ok.
Have you tried a different keyboard?
Does this work in Safe Mode?

ctrl + esc opens the Start Menu if you need to test the ctrl key.
How about the ctrl key on the right side of the keyboard?

ctrl esc works fine with left or right. Tested in safe mode to make sure it wasn't something else blocking it and it still doesn't work. It's a new keyboard. However, it did it with the last keyboard as well.

Q1. Are you using Synergy mouse/keyboard-sharing software?
(In my experience its shared clipboard can clash with Windows' enhanced Clipboard User Service rendering the clipboard unresponsive in both Windows and Synergy.)
Q2. If you stop Windows' Clipboard User Service, does CTRL+c and CTRL+v work again (i.e. using Windows' built-in 'legacy' clip.exe)?
To test:
1. Press Win+r keys together then, when the Run dialog appears, type services.msc then press Enter/Return.
2. When the Services window appears, scroll down to 'Clipboard User Service_xxxxx' (where xxxxx is 5 random characters).
3. Right-click on the service and choose Stop.
4. Minimise the window then try CTRL+c and CTRL+v in something like Notepad.
5. When you've carried out that test, return to the Services window, right-click on the 'Clipboard User Service_xxxxx' entry and choose Start. You can close the Services window at this point.

I've already tried the driver thing. It's not that. I don't use Synergy and I don't have Clipboard User Service anything in services.

Does rt click Copy, Paste work?
And does this problem exist in all contexts, not just, say, MS Word?
Do you routinely run any 3rd party cleaners or 'maintenance' software?
Example:
I had this ctrl+c & ctrl+v not working in anything issue.
The problem was within a program I use called Advanced System Care, the "Smart Ram" program within this suite of utilities has a function "clean clipboard" & this was the culprit for my issue.

Right click works and it's in everything. Not just one or 2 programs.

Please create a new user for test purposes. Log in as that user. Do you see the same problem?
If so, try an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data like any upgrade.
