About downloading files not appearing on Desktop unless refreshing

Greetings guys, I have been encountered a strange issue lately.

I installed 21H1 Superlite V.3 ISO by Tech aarohi on youtube, the strange problem is, if I use Chromium based web browser to download files and save to desktop, the newly downloaded file will not appear unless I right click refresh or F5 it. While it doesn't happen for non-chromium based browser such as Firefox.

I have tested in VM that other build of Tech aarohi(they have problems other than the one mentioning) and original build of M$ doesn't have this issue. But it takes so much time to re-install everything and I want to continue using Chrome.

Does anyone know what is the issue and can it be fixed? Thanks in advance.

Hi qwvb1111 and welcome to the forum. This type of behavior happens to me occasionally when downloading or copying files to the desktop. I’ve never seen a consistent pattern so I’ve never been able to find a cause but since it’s infrequent it’s never really bothered me. I might suggest that you create a separate folder just for saving your downloaded files to avoid this issue as your desktop is not the best place to use as a temporary file destination.

To add, the Default for saving is usually C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Downloads but most browsers have a setting in Options or Preferences to change that. I don't use Chrome but Firefox has it, so does the new Edge.

This Refresh problem has existed for at least twenty years. It can come & go.

I wasted months of my life investigating the issue & trying out innumerable so-called solutions.
    - Some worked for a very short period.
    - Some did not work at all.
    - None fixed the problem permanently.

I suggest that you do not waste time. Just accept it and get on with more productive work.

    All the best,
    Denis
