    Hi hope all is well thanks for your reply and input. You are absolutely correct about backing up the drive contents and securing the bit locker key if one decides to use it,which I now have not one bit of desire to do(pun intended )lol
    I will download the program that you recommend and hopefully this will help to get the tablet up and running again.
    Quick question? I saw a surfactrt for sale at $50, if I purchase it would I be able to make a back up image from it and used that image to recover the surfacert that's currently not working.
    Depends on whether it has the same hardware configuration as the one you are working on. If it has different hardware, using it to make an image to restore the one you are working on can cause its own issues in trying to load drivers that are for components that do not exist in the one being restored.

    ===========UPDATE============

    I took a few minutes to look up the Surface RT. Looks like it only came with one configuration, save the storage which came in 32GB and 64GB variants. An image made with another surface should work without an issue. However, it looks like you are already working off another surface image so I dont know what good buying another one to make an image of it would do for you.

    Hi hope all is well with everyone. I apologize for my delayed response to those of you who are working with me to resolve this issue and now for my update:
    I downloaded Khyi's win10pe,I followed the instructions for creating the USB,when I was asked for the source file I selected the image that I have for the surfacert,the program continued to work but then stopped with the message that the source does not contain a install.wim image. I am not able to get past this point for creating the USB. I Also tried to download Khyi's recovery disk x86/32 bit but whenever I click on that link I get a 404 error message saying that the page cannot be found.
    Also thanks for sharing a bit of your time to look up additional information on the surfacert for me, I appreciate it. My thinking on buying 🤔 the working one is that an image from that working tablet might contain the missing information needed for the installation to get past 56% which is the point at which it fails.
    QUESTION:
    Is it possible to load the windows rt 8.1 os onto a usb as the working drive and use the tablet that way. I gather that's what we are trying to with Khyi's rescue disk but if for some reason that's not possible perhaps setting up the os to work from a usb might let us see and repair the flash drive. I know that this question may have you all saying well isn't that what we're kinda trying to do with the Kyhi software already but I thought that would just ask.
