Win version 2004(OS Build 19041.867)

I have a non-windows looking 'eye' thats been inhabiting my computer. I tried to take a screenshot(2 methods) but the 'eye' is not seen in the screenshot. So I took a picture with my camera.

so I'll go over a symptom list and see if anyone can help:
It has no functionality I can access with the mouse
It randomly appears, always in the same spot , lower right of main monitor.
It will appear, stay on for 5 sec. then disappear. sometimes every 20 sec, sometimes not for 10 minutes.
It appears to be 'loading' sometimes, but not reliably
It overlays all windows on all programs, including showing up on the screensaver.
It's b&w, approx 50% transparent.

any clues?
I'm hoping it's not a virus

I didn't install any camera software. My computer is relatively new. got it on a cyber Monday deal.
Does anyone recommend an antivirus forum to post on perhaps? I've done an online scan (house call), my installed av software doesn't recognize it (windows av) and a google image search turns up nada.

I suggest you post a list [or series of screenshots but do crop each of them as much as possible] showing your installed applications and Windows apps.
Settings, Apps

- It would also be worth looking through the entries in Task manager, Processes but that list is far too long to post.
- I think the same applies to the results of running Tasklist in either a cmd or PowerShell window but you could usefully look through it for any tell-tale names.

Perhaps somebody will recognise one of them as the culprit.

Hi stat, welcome to Ten Forums.

That's a fascinating looking doodad.
What makes you say it appears to be loading sometimes?
An online image search hasn't provided any results, I'm curious now.

Try a free online virus scan. Be warned, it may take a couple of hours or more but the last time I suggested this scan it found many nasties.

Hi, W10 Tweaker, I'll try that online scanner. I already tried Housecall with no results. The 'eye' has a loading bar below it, and it sometimes increases in value, just like if it was loading something. I may take a video to show it better.

It's NOT inhabiting your computer, it's inhabiting your monitor. It's the 'Brightness intelligence system' of the Benq EW2770QZ telling you that it's adjusting the monitor's brightness. Apparently you can turn it off. See this review which includes a screenshot of that 'eye'...

....The notification is just as distracting as a Windows 10 notification box and fiddling through the fiddling through the numerous options on the onscreen menu presented no obvious option to turn off the notification.....I am continually being distracted by the notification as the screen changes ever so slightly. Checking through the menu I have found the Brightness Intelligence notification and there is the ability to switch it off the on-screen display.

Ah yes, That must be it! That is the exact image that is on my screen. So annoying that it wasn't more clearly labeled when I was playing with the settings on the monitor. I think that solved the problem thanks! Do you have the same monitor?

Well thanks for putting my curiosity to rest.

Now I have another related mystery for you. Why did my Google image search only provide 4 hits and nothing related to what yours identified?
Can you provide an IP for your version of Google image search?

I tried changing my search region to UK and still received the same results.
