Put all commands into a single CMD file. Just double-click on the file to run it. That is the simplest.

As DHCP status is a critical parameter I started with it. Stalled right out.

    C:\Users\mikei>netsh
    netsh>dhcp
    netsh dhcpclient>show servers
The following command was not found: show servers.
    netsh dhcpclient>

    Run ipconfig /all
Do you find something like the following?

    Code:
       DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.1
       DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : 115397982
       DHCPv6 Client DUID. . . . . . . . : 00-01-00-01-25-15-7C-20-E0-D5-5E-CC-65-A3

Yes. i see them now. I was thinking that one could get the needed data directly rather then weeding them from an array.

Is the phrase "weeding them from an array" an idiom? If so, what does it mean?

I think I have plucked out what I need to fully specify the parameters for a wired network connection?

I may have missed something or included unnecessary items? Please let me know. The goal is a minimal list for easy comprehension and tracking.

When I used DHCP, I did not need any settings. I just turned on the modem. Then, I could access the Internet. I did not have to run any commands or set up a connection.

I always think it is better to have too much information and NOT need it, than to need it and NOT have it.
