@steve108 when I say it freezes with heavy usage it's because it tends to freeze (needing restart) when I have many things running, for instance I usually have eMule and uTorrent with many files uploading and downloading, also three or four browsers with lots of tabs open at the same time, I always have open Chrome and TOR at least, with lots of tabs each, easily 30 on each, but many times also open Firefox and Opera. Having the four open together is very usual. Additionally I am frequently sending movies to the TV via VLC and Chromecast. And frequently I have music or radio on or I am processing videos with Handbrake.

    .........
@kmint, it's your thread, so feel free to go off topic ..... history bit was interesting for me

Oh boy, you really do push this laptop . That's a lot of stuff you got going on. Thanks for the details.

I wonder what CPU, GPU, and drive temperatures goes up to under load and how much stuff is being paged between RAM and drive paging file.

Got the new disk, Kingston A2000, temperature is now just 30º, but Windows keeps freezing needing restart.

    Windows 10 clean install.

So if the disk is not the problem... I must run all those tests you gave me.

    Sorry to hear this.

RAM, GPU, power supply, or motherboard - unless you have a bad driver. Are you getting BSODs?

    Hi!
I would suggest you first to check in the Windows Event Log.
Press Windows+R to open the Run dialog, enter eventvwr (or eventvwr. msc) and hit OK.
Under Windows Logs open Application and save the entire log by pressing the right mouse button.
Also do the same with the System too.
Zip the files and post here.

Maybe we can figure out what is going on in your system by the Event logs.

Or you can also check your self by searching for some logs which are logged nearly in time when your PC froze...

    My best regards.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not your Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.
    Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
If we have to run Farbar more than once, refer this SS.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the Desktop.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt) on the Desktop.
The logs are large, upload them using this. No time delays/Captcha-I'm not a Robot/account/registration needed. Give us the links please.

Thank you Steve. No BSOD just sudden freezings. And this time it was not overloaded at all since I am still installing stuff, I was just on the browser with only like 15 tabs opened and nothing more, not eMule or uTorrent even installed yet, not chromecasting... light work.

Bad drivers how can you know? I guess I'll need time to go running all those tests as I have little. Many thanks, you're great guys.

I just got a freezing with restart just when I wanted to do this so the last thing registered should be the freezing. This is chinese to me, I don't know what or where to look. Please let me know. I enclose the zipped logs, in Spanish though.

I don't find a way to upload the logs here so I uploaded to my Mega account if that's ok

My Chrome blocked the download of Farbar saying it is dangerous. First time I see my Chrome blocking something saying this. Are you sure it's ok? Thank you very much.

Oh, and I'm seeing it is a malware detection tool, but I just installed Windows clean on a new disk, so how can I have malware so fast?

Have you checked the Event Viewer for any possible clues/errors?
