File explorer issue when opening a folder

This is driving me mad. I have a folder within my Pictures folder named Funny. I save all kinds of funny pics and videos in there.

The issue: When I open the Funny folder, it always defaults to a view of the middle section of the files, then after a second or so, it goes to the top like all other folders do when opened. This happened on the old PC before the upgrade and is still happening on the new build with a Pcie x4 nvme ssd.

I am at a loss on what is causing this. Running Version 20H2 19042.870 currently. This has been happening since 20H1 builds.

I also have a Funnies folder, with MANY thousands of files, although I do NOT experience the same problem that you are referring to!

Just a thought. Have you tried copying the folder to the Root of C:\ to see if the problem also applies?

    I hope this helps.

What in the blue hell Paul? It did not do that when on the root of C:\ ??????????????

On the first cup of coffee, so I would welcome any ideas other than leaving at the root level lol.

EDIT: It actually did it again when I launched it from a 3rd party app to post a picture of it. Very weird that it does not do it until I sort by date and sort that by none. Must be a MS issue. No way this new nvme could have that lag.

I only mentioned that because I have had a similar problem in the past with Folders and discovered that if I copied them to the Root of C:\ it worked. I then copied the original Folder to a USB [ just in case ] and replaced it with the one on the Root of C:\. In my case, it sorted the problem out.

I did investigate to try and get to the bottom of it but couldn't. It could of had something to do with Indexing or whatever, but I never found out. It depends on how long you want to spend on it!

    I hope this helps.
