As far as I know there's no way to add that.. though see discussions such as this which suggest a kind of fudge:

Of course there's Win key + d...

W + D is perfect thanks i never knew that . this doesnt work : To get Desktop in the Taskbar, right click the Task bar and select Toolbars → then click Desktop to add it to the Task bar. - it shows but does nothing when clicked

- ref. desktop toolbar - you should see
You need to click on the >> which changes to show a small rectangle when you hover over it.
