How to remove phantom file on Windows 10 Pro

    Its possible that you may be dealing with a problem with some system files. Corrupted or missing system files can cause a whole host of weird issues.

    Open a command prompt or a powershell as a administrator then run:

    Code:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    Once that is done, run:

    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    If there are any missing or corrupted system files, these commands will fix it. When this is done, try your mapping utility again.

    ArazelEternal,
    thanks for the suggestion. I ran both commands as you suggested. They ran successfully. I then attempted to map the drive again but was not successful...this is getting really frustrating :-(
